Spread the Word

We are prefacing this blog by saying that we understand that many of us grew up and got educated alongside the lumination of the dreaded fluorescent lights. We hadn’t heard of LED lighting. Not only did fluorescent lighting make us look sickly, but it made us misbehave at school and made kids less productive. Also, fluorescent lights come in tube-like bulbs, which contain a relatively small amount of mercury gas which can play havoc on our lungs, kidneys, and nervous system.

Fluorescent lights were considered cost-effective compared to conventional lighting. Conventional lighting was expensive and produced waste in electricity and bulbs that you’d have to throw out frequently and replace. But don’t worry – our sources tell us that by September of 2023, fluorescent lighting will be banned entirely.

Well, our new superhero lighting is LED lighting, which has many health and wellness benefits and is also considered sustainable lighting. LED reduces significant CO2 emissions, which helps us save money on our electricity bills and replacement costs. Our environment also benefits from LED because of the lower CO2 emissions, which positively impacts our health.

LED Lighting mimics natural light, which helps our bodies regulate our circadian system and affects our sleep/wake cycle, hormone secretion, and natural body temperature, making us balanced and more productive. It also aids in treating Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a seasonal depression many people suffer from. Using a light box with LED that helps manage the circadian rhythm is great for those suffering from SAD.

LED Lighting is credited with decreasing headaches and migraines in light-sensitive people. With LED lighting and the aid of lighting controls, you have a customized solution for those bothersome headaches.

For those raised surrounded by fluorescent lights, now you have a choice to make your home and office light healthy. Learn more about our LED lighting solutions here at ADG!
