Pasadena City Hall, located at 100 North Garfield Ave in Pasadena, California, is historically and architecturally significant. The architectural style combines Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles.
The building uses intricate design on the building and fancy terra-cotta detailing, as well as a central courtyard to add to the elegance. The architectural firm that designed this elaborate landmark was Bakewell and Brown. They also created the San Francisco City Hall, the 17-story Pacific Gas and Electric Office Building in 1925, and one of the first steel skyscrapers built in San Francisco.
The height includes a unique 206-foot tall vaulted tower, which can be seen from several vantage points throughout Pasadena. The courtyard of the City Hall has a spectacular fountain known as the Tournament of Roses Fountain. This fountain was installed in 1984 to observe the 100th anniversary of the Tournament of Roses Parade.
In 1980, Pasadena City Hall was designated for its historical and architectural significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places. Now that Pasadena City Hall has some fame, other celebrities are attracted to this spectacular landmark to tie the knot.
Actor David Arquette and his wife Christina McLarty chose this beautiful landmark for their wedding in 2015. Before them, there was David Schwimmer and Zoe Buckman, who tied the knot at Pasadena City Hall in 2010. Perhaps David Schwimmer told David Arquette about this fine venue!
For all you “Friends” fans, we are discussing the episode where David Arquette’s character stalked Phoebe because she reminded him of Ursula (Phoebe’s twin sister). So that’s why we feel that one David told the other David about Pasadena City Hall as a great place to get married in.
For all of you fans of the “Parks and Recreation” television show, the exterior of Pasadena City Hall served as the exterior for the fictional city of Pawnee, Indiana city hall. Now that we’ve lit the fire, perhaps you will want to use this venue for your up-and-coming wedding — a beautiful and historical landmark.
