If you’re like us, you enjoy the mid-century modern inspiration that we often see in some of today’s best decorated homes and spaces. We recently worked with a client in Ventura, California who was updating his hillside beach home. He was inspired by the ADG Lighting Pinterest board and decided to hire us to custom design several lighting pieces.

Our inspiration comes from mid-century architects like Alvar Alto, Joseph Eichler, Mies and Welton Becket (roughly from the timeframe between 1933-1965). Eero Saarinen, Rudolph Schindler, Luis Kahn, Jean Royere are some of our favorite interior-inspired designers. So what makes it mid-century and good design is a debate that is going on at the moment. Designers Like Cleo Baldon made great furniture, as did Royere and Saarinen.

Eero Saarinen was a Finnish American architect and industrial designer of the 20th century famous for shaping his neofuturistic style according to the demands of the project, using simple, sweeping, arching structural curves or machine-like rationalism (according to Wikipedia). And that is true of any great design.

We take design to heart at ADG and know that our new and inspired pieces all are born from clients that appreciate our pen and ink turned into metal and glass. From curbside to poolside, we work with clients across Southern California on all of their lighting needs. Give us a call at (818) 597-9494 or email us at info@adgmail.com and let us illuminate your next design project!
