As many of you know, Gerald Olesker, architectural industrial designer and founder/CEO of ADG Lighting, is at the forefront of the lighting industry and the go-to-guy when it comes to lighting miracles and creative, never-before-seen lighting fixtures. So when Gerald decides to feature another part of his secret posse of creatives, we all sit and wait with bated breath. As usual, Gerald never disappoints.
Meet Mike and Annette Reeves, married to each other and professionals in the construction/development industry. Both Mike and Annette share the same architectural design perspective when working with clients, even though they work in different capacities. They have reached the pinnacle of success in their fields, all while staying happily married.
Mike owns the very successful firm Corbin Reeves Construction. The company name is a combination of his mother’s maiden name of Corbin and his family name of Reeves. He has a staff of 15, which includes both office and superintendents. He hires the best crews as needed and oversees all projects.
He is involved in the day-to-day operations of running the business and designing for the most discriminating clients. Mike also oversees his crews and ensures that everything is as perfect as humanly possible and is what the client requested, ensuring everything is structurally sturdy and safe.
He has built over 400 beautiful homes and estates. In that time, he has gotten very creative requests and admits having to steer clients to a more structurally sound design. Having been in the business for over 30 years, he has learned to spot which details the client has fallen in love with and incorporate them into his work.
Mike plays the tough guy by asking his clients the proverbial question, “Do you want it to look good or work well?” He then delivers a gorgeous, structurally safe and sound design with all the fixings they wanted. This is one of the many reasons for his success.
Annette Reeves is an advisor at PIRCH and is based at the Costa Mesa location. She is very knowledgeable on current high-end product lines and their functions relating to the client’s lifestyle. She asks questions and listens intently, with her goal to educate and ultimately recommend custom products that clients will love and use. This could be why she is at the top of her field.
Annette uses the architecture of the family structure when consulting with clients. “I won’t recommend something if it isn’t practical for that family and their lifestyle. There isn’t a one size fits all in this industry.”
Annette’s integrity and attention to detail isn’t by accident. She holds an MBA from Pepperdine and went to USC for her undergraduate studies. Both Annette and Mike admit that mutual respect for what they do separately is the key.
The couple works with Gerald through the Estate Partners program. They met over 20 years ago and have been collaborating on special projects ever since. Mike will bring Gerald in because his design sense makes it easier for the clients.
New projects for Corbin Reeves Construction include a contemporary multi-building residential compound above the ocean in Dana Point on a 15-acre parcel of land, and an all concrete and steel in glass house in Newport Beach.
When Mike and Annette aren’t working making this world aesthetically more beautiful, they love spending time with their two children, six chickens, three horses, three dogs, cat, mouse, and bunny.
They are definitely a dynamic duo!
