When ADG Lighting was approached for a unique architectural project on Harbor Island, no one could have predicted the transformative power a single sculpture would hold. What began as a commissioned lighting and architectural enhancement quickly evolved into something more—a signature piece of creative expression. “The Golden Knight,” a now-iconic sculpture, is the result of a spark of imagination ignited during a casual conversation with a client who happened to own the Vegas Golden Knights NHL team.
ADG: Where Creativity Meets Craftsmanship
ADG’s extensive 25+ years of experience is reflected in every custom creation. Our approach is anything but ordinary, consistently delivering visionary solutions that add beauty, value, and emotion to architectural spaces. Whether it’s forging bespoke lighting or crafting sculptural centerpieces, ADG blends old-world techniques with modern aesthetic sensibilities to capture attention and elevate environments.
Gerald Olesker, Principal Designer of ADG, envisioned a welcoming centerpiece for friends arriving by yacht—a luminous sculpture that could capture attention and convey character. Inspired by the owners’ love for hockey and the essence of worn, rusting skates, Gerald transformed a simple idea into a sensual, dynamic bronze sculpture. The underbody was forged from iron steel, bent and shaped with artisan care, while the top layers were built with 14 layers of glowing bronze patina.
Turning Rejection into a Legacy Sculpture
Despite an initial pushback from the homeowners, who were advised by the architect to consider something more traditional, Gerald made a bold decision: he would create “The Golden Knight” regardless. “This idea was already in my system. It was part of me and I needed to get this out of my head now”, expressed Gerald about this cathartic moment. No longer bound to the project’s original scope, the sculpture became a personal mission and a testament to the ADG ethos—of daring to build not just for clients, but for creativity itself. The Golden Knight was launched at a West Edge design fair. It received such incredible feedback that it became part of ADG’s calling card and pushed the company to another level in the metalwork and sculpture world.
A cornerstone of ADG’s ongoing success lies in how they contribute to each project. Their proactive design methodology ensures that ideas are not only delivered but often elevated—surpassing expectations. With deep involvement and a hands-on philosophy, ADG doesn’t just respond to design briefs—they help define them.
