Spread the Word

As you’re driving down the hustle and bustle of Melrose Avenue, trying to keep your eyes on the traffic, you can’t help but notice from the corner of your eye the colorful architectural marvel known as the Pacific Design Center (PDC), standing in all its glory.

Talk about an influencer! Nestled in the heart of West Hollywood, the Pacific Design Center is an original, not only because of its colorful exterior but also as a breeding ground for innovation within the design industry.

Spanning over 1.6 million square feet, the Pacific Design Center represents a fusion of the art, architecture, and creative industries. Its three iconic buildings, known by their predominant colors – blue, green, and red – are a testament to forward-thinking architectural expertise.

The Pacific Design Center has more than 100 showrooms representing over 2200 product lines, thus making it a haven for interior designers and others who share a love of the design industry. The Pacific Design Center provides a comprehensive snapshot of contemporary design trends ranging from opulent furnishings to chic decorative pieces, ensuring that every visitor leaves inspired.

A legacy since its inception in 1975 with the unveiling of the Blue Building (also called the Blue Whale), the PDC has consistently set the benchmark for design innovation. The creation of the PDC spans four decades – the Green Building in 1988 and followed by the creation of the Red Building in 2012. The Red Building is a masterpiece by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Cesar Pelli.

The very presence of the PDC transformed West Hollywood into a design district, inspiring other design-centric businesses to set up shop in the vicinity. This synergy of work and creativity amplifies the PDC magnetic pull, attracting the resources for creativity and innovation, and the quest and thirst for more.

The PDC hosts events year-round, from design industry events to lectures, book signings, and many other special events. Check your local guide for more information, or visit their website at pacificdesigncenter.com
