ADG and Michael Berman: Sketching the Possibilities

outdoor living space by luxurious pool created by adglighting.com

When two creative forces meet over a sketchpad, the possibilities are endless. There is nothing more exciting or gratifying than to explore ideas and concepts of a design, then translate that into visual possibilities on a sketchpad. That’s how innovation in design is created!

Over the years, we have had the distinct pleasure of creating possibilities with one of the most prolific and creative designers in the industry, Michael Berman. Michael is a premier designer in the Los Angeles area who has created breathtaking projects for numerous high profile clients and properties on a global scale. With over 25 years experience, Michael has been able to translate the vision into reality in such a creative and thoughtful manner, that he has become of of the most in demand designers in the industry. The key to our success is that we have been able to understand Berman’s needs and precisely execute his vision. He is one of our favorite designers!

Sitting down with Berman is such a satisfying and energizing process. Over the years, we have been able to collaborate on many noteworthy projects, such as GUESS co-founder Armando Marciano’s Beverly Hills residence (now currently owned by Elton John), a beautiful estate in the Carmel Valley area of Monterey, and numerous other projects in the hospitality and restaurant industries, including design collaborations at the Arroyo Chop House and the Parkway Grill in Pasadena.

Recently, we were able to collaborate on a project for the annual Modernism Show in Palm Springs, CA. His project was met with astounding acclaim — Berman stated that the ADG floor lamps were the “hit of the show!” We are honored to continue our creative exploration with a design icon like Michael Berman.

Think About Your Kitchen in 2016

ADG Lighting_kitchen_design

The design, function and use of modern kitchens is always evolving. We love our kitchens! They are a creative place where we create and where we congregate. Our friends and family gather in them to share and celebrate life. It is estimated that we spend an average of 3 hours a day in the kitchen. It is an integral part of the overall living space of our homes and worthy of our attention to create a comfortable creative space.

For 2016, one of the major trends in kitchen design is the change in lighting. Our kitchens in 2016 will reflect designs that are a flashback to the 80’s, with integrated living space designs that have a soft-nutted color palette and texture-on-texture contrast. The lighting changes will be based in well-lit cabinetry. No longer will we depend on ceiling lighting or well placed lamps to provide the proper lighting effect. We will see the use of low-voltage lighting strips as accent pieces through the cabinetry. The use of LED lighting will be the norm. The trend will offer the ability to offer better mood setting designs, in combination with recessed can lights. Families will live life more in their kitchens during 2016. Open up the space and let the design enhance the quality of life.

Lighting plays a key role in design of a space. As you look at remodel and renovation projects in your kitchen in 2016, partner with the right expert to bring creativity and function to your project through lighting. ADG Lighting is the right choice for your project and would be honored to partner with you today! Go to www.adglighting.com to schedule a design meeting.

Michael Strahan Steps into the ADG Limelight

Another celebrity home adorned with ADG Lighting is making headlines! It turns out NFL star and Good Morning America Host Michael Strahan has just rented an Italian style villa with his fiancée Nicole Murphy in the Beverly Park area of Los Angeles, formerly owned by a Russian businessman and his wife. The elegant estate features our custom made chandeliers and exterior lanterns.

The lanterns were inspired by Italian iconic 18th century pieces. Then design extraordinaire Gerald Olesker added a modern influence to the pieces.  All were made in solid brass and heavily oxidized; the sandblasted seeded glass clipped corner cubes are suspended from a brass forged arm.

The 10,575 foot property, with 8 bedrooms, 10 baths, a guest house, and a resort style pool, is worth an estimated $20 million. Other famous neighbors who have lived in the area include Wayne Gretzky, Mark Wahlberg, and Tim McGraw.

The magical touch of ADG’s own Gerald Olesker is also seen throughout 22 other homes in the exclusive Beverly Park and the North Beverly Park HOA. Olesker and his team did some work for another celebrity who resided in the Beverly Park area –Wheel of Fortune letter turner Vanna White.

ADG Lighting enjoyed working with the likes of Architect Homer Oatman, Interior Designer Mo Dawn and Mike Reeves of Corbin Reeves Construction. The front doors open up to an entry colonnade, featuring several pendant lanterns as you walk through the hall. Both the expansive kitchen and office have iron chandeliers as lighting centerpieces, and draw you into the rest of the beautiful rooms that offer scenic views of the Pacific Coast.
